Any failure to take into consideration that the highly intelligent are also capable of great stupidity is not a sign that one is not highly intelligent; it is a sign that one is capable of great stupidity.
High intellectual achievement is in the grasp of only a few, but stupidity is within the grasp of all. An unintelligent man who knows his own limitations is far less likely to behave stupidly than a highly intelligent man who doesn't. In fact, high intelligence often encourages arrogance and an unrealistic assessment of one's capabilities in unfamiliar fields.
Anonymous, educational institutions are a business. They have bills to pay, payrolls to meet, benefits to fund. The more customers (students) that they have, the more money they make.

ReplyDeleteJust out of Curiosity, Why are we having to make our A-Levels easier in this country. If it's so that every one can get them it makes them worthless.
