Aha! I spent some wasted time chopping and changing this one, switching from clear but poor wording to ambiguous but better wording, and in the end I took out "those others" and replaced it with "them", having persuaded myself that most naturally one would take "them" to refer to "others". Not a good decision, it seems. I shall change it at your prompting. Much obliged.

With respect, this Fewtril is unclear, what is the antecedent to "them." Is it the "others" or "the principles" or, unlikely, the "dirty work."

By leaving the dirty work to others on principle, one can enjoy a spotless conscience by which to condemn them.
Any good?
