Something like this is true of all forms of relativism, i.e., moral relativism, historical relativism, aesthetic relativism. Everything gets reduced to taste. And then great pride is taken in one's taste, as in the wretched hipsters and their wretched indy music.

I deplore the use of the hash (#). What is wrong with good old Nº ?

Ah, fair enough. I'm not sure why I started using the hash. I don't much like it myself. I should switch.
