“On 1st January, the last German veteran of the First World War passed away . . . and to official Germany this is worth not one syllable.”

That's really appalling. They're cutting their own throats. Why would anyone sacrifice anything for a regime and governing class that is indifferent to, or embarrassed by, those who gave everything?
At least they didn't charge him with complicity in the outrages in Louvain.
Pretty rotten, isn't it?
And at least they didn't charge him with breaches of health-and-safety.
The last French Veteran died yesterday aged 110.
Sad really a bit of, "Tages-zeit Macht Frei"...
Hey D. I'm finally back online again.
We just honored our last survivng soldier from WWI. He's about 100 years old I think.
Take care
Lucy
One might be tempted to chalk this up to some sort of Jew-enforced disavowal of the past... one may be less tempted to realize that this veteran may have (based only on the stats of who served) been a Jew himself.
For the record: About two times as many Jews died fighting for Germany and Austria-Hungary in World War One than have died fighting for Israel in all of her wars to date.
